Short answer

For one or two implants, Mexico is usually cheaper once flights are counted — a $200–$600 flight to Los Algodones or Tijuana beats a $780–$1,400 flight to Türkiye, twice over. From roughly three units upward, and decisively on full-arch work, Türkiye wins: the treatment gap grows faster than the airfare. We say this even though we only operate in Türkiye.

Prices on this page are MedMatch Global's own published figures, checked against our partner clinics' current written price lists on August 11, 2026. Why the answer depends entirely on case size

Both destinations are cheap relative to North America. The deciding variable is not the price per tooth — it is how many teeth, divided by the cost of getting there.

A flight to Mexico from most of the United States is $150–$450 return, and from Toronto or Montreal $300–$600. A flight to Türkiye is $750–$1,400. Implants need two trips, so double both figures. That gives Mexico a head start of roughly $1,000–$2,000 in travel costs that the treatment gap has to overcome before Türkiye is worth considering.

On one implant, the treatment gap is a few hundred dollars and it never catches up. On a full arch, the gap is thousands per arch and it catches up immediately.

Where Mexico is genuinely the better choice

We would rather say this plainly than have you work it out after paying us.

  • One or two implants. The saving does not justify sixteen hours of flying, twice.
  • A single crown, a filling, a cleaning. Obviously.
  • If you live in the U.S. Southwest. Los Algodones is a drive, not a flight, for a large part of Arizona and California — which changes the arithmetic entirely.
  • If you cannot take two long trips. A day trip across a land border is a fundamentally different commitment from two weeks of international travel.
  • If a revision would be unaffordable. Going back to Mexico costs a few hundred dollars; going back to Türkiye costs about $1,000. On a small case that risk is disproportionate.
Our own True Cost Calculator produces this result and we have deliberately left it that way. On small cases it recommends staying closer to home. Being willing to lose those enquiries is what makes the full-arch numbers credible.

Where Türkiye pulls clearly ahead

  • Full-arch and full-mouth work. The gap runs to tens of thousands of dollars, and the flights become a rounding error.
  • Cosmetic cases of 16–20 units. Same arithmetic.
  • Cases needing hospital-grade facilities — sedation, complex grafting, medically complex patients. Türkiye's JCI-accredited hospital network is deeper than Mexican border-town dentistry, which is largely clinic-based.
  • Anything bundled with accommodation. Turkish packages routinely include hotel and transfers; Mexican pricing is usually treatment-only, so headline comparisons flatter Mexico until you add the hotel.
  • Treatments beyond dentistry. Hair transplantation and rhinoplasty volumes in Türkiye have no Mexican equivalent.

The things that are not about price

Both countries have excellent clinics and bad ones, and the variation within each country is far wider than the variation between them. Country is a weak proxy for quality. What actually predicts a good outcome is the same in both places: a named surgeon you spoke to before paying, a written itemised quote, a named implant brand, and a written revision policy.

Two differences that are real and worth weighing: Mexico's proximity makes revisions and follow-ups genuinely easier for North Americans, which matters more than most price comparisons admit. Türkiye's regulatory structure for international patients and its accredited hospital network are more developed, which matters most on complex and medically involved cases.

Frequently asked questions

Is it cheaper to get dental work in Türkiye or Mexico from Toronto?+

For one or two implants, Mexico — a $300–$600 return flight beats a $780–$1,200 one, twice over, and the treatment gap is only a few hundred dollars. From roughly three units up, and decisively on full-arch work, Türkiye wins because the treatment gap grows much faster than the airfare.

Is one dental implant worth flying abroad for?+

Rarely. Once you add two return flights and accommodation, a single implant saves a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars against staying home, and Mexico beats Türkiye at that size anyway. Implants become worth long-haul travel from about three or four units up.

Is Los Algodones cheaper than Türkiye?+

For small cases, yes — especially if you can drive there, which much of Arizona and southern California can. For full-arch work the Turkish all-inclusive packages are typically thousands of dollars cheaper even after two long-haul flights.

Where is the cheapest place in the world for dental implants?+

Per implant, Türkiye and India are usually at the bottom, with Mexico, Hungary and Thailand close behind. But the cheapest place for you depends on your flights and how many units you need — the honest answer is arithmetic, not a country name.

Is dental care in Mexico safe?+

The good clinics are good and the bad ones are bad, exactly as in Türkiye and exactly as at home. Country is a weak predictor of quality. Judge on a named surgeon you spoke to first, a written itemised quote, a named implant brand and a written revision policy — the same four things, wherever you go.

Why would a Türkiye agency tell me to go to Mexico?+

Because a small case that ends badly is worse for us than an enquiry we did not take. Our fee is a flat $300 rather than a percentage, so we have nothing to gain from talking a two-implant patient onto a plane to Antalya.
